People shoot pistols for many reasons and as with any firearm Safety is my primary concern and it needs to be yours as well.

Safe & Fun!

I often work with people who have never owned a pistol and have decided to get their first firearm. Even seasoned shooters find the myriads of pistol choices available bewildering.

Which Pistol?

With my help you’ll have the opportunity to shoot some of the most popular styles of pistols in multiple calibers and cartridges. Striker fired pistols, 1911 style pistols, revolvers and even a single shot hunting pistol.

After a couple of hours at the range you will have a better overall view of pistols and cartridges in general and then be better able to make informed decisions.

Holsters

Today there is an unbelievable selection of holsters available to the firearms buyer. Most shooters will end up with more than one. I work with Galco Gunleather, a company which I believe makes the finest holsters of the most thoughtful design. Their goal is to make the best gunleather for “People who Demand the Best and Know the Difference”.

Dot Sights

Dot sights have become extremely popular. I teach techniques that promote their quick and efficient use. I started using these sights when they first came out many years ago and have been a fan ever since.

Teaching & Training

Students new to pistol shooting who wish to improve their skillset and knowledge level are a pleasure to work with. I teach the basics to new shooters and then continue to work on their primary skills: trigger control, grip and the efficient and safe handling of their pistols.

I have students who shoot with me on a regular basis to maintain their efficiency and improve their skills, including accurate accelerated fire, emergency magazine changes, reducing the time it takes to get first round hits on target and point shooting. Speed and accuracy are equally important.

I bring a wide variety of handguns in different styles, calibers and cartridges during the range session. Typically, I bring 22 LR target and range pistols, large and small revolvers, semi-auto pistols in both striker-fired and hammer fired models (like Glock or Sig and 1911 style pistols) and if you have an interest in handgun hunting, a single shot hunting pistol.

The cartridges I usually teach with include 22 LR, 22 Magnum, 9mm Luger, 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 44 Special, 44 Magnum and 45 Automatic (ACP). Many find this helpful when considering a handgun purchase. You will fire pistols using both iron sighs and dot sights.

You can use your own handgun if it’s an appropriate pistol or revolver, chambered in any cartridge, in good condition and safe to shoot. (DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS PLESE DO NOT BRING A SIG P320) You are welcome to use any of my firearms during teaching and training sessions. Plan on bringing and shooting about 100 rounds while at the range.
