Hunting Rifle

I will help you choose the proper rifle, scope and ammo or we can optimize your existing equipment’s accuracy. While setting up and zeroing your rifle you will learn how to best use bench rests and bipods, as well as shooting from sticks or off your pack. I’ll teach you how to shoot from off-hand, sitting and prone positions.

Long Range Rifle to 2000 Yards

Enjoy a “Fun in the Sun” day for you and your friends, while earning certificates that can be hung on the wall. This is a great opportunity to do something you’ve never thought possible. Even if you never shoot long-range again it’s a great day that will give you pictures and memories which will  make for interesting conversation starters. If you’ll follow my directions, even with without experience, you’ll hit the 1000 yards target and probably the mile target depending on the wind conditions at the range. This experience is good for big smiles all around.

Rangefinders, Solvers & Necessary Equipment

I offer serious instruction in long range shooting. We’ll be working with rifles, scopes, computers, range finders, gun cleaning, spotter-sniper communications, the best ammunition choices and advanced accuracy reloading processes.  I’ll teach you how to use different “solvers” and the difference between using ballistic coefficients and drag profiles. You’ll learn the benefits and the costs of using minutes of angle or milliradians. You will be exposed to everything. This takes time to learn, a great deal of practice and is expensive. I will give you a good idea of what to expect and hopefully start you on a most interesting journey.

Typically, I’ll bring four or more rifles when we go to the Cameo range. We will shoot a great deal of ammunition which means a single rifle will have a problem with heat buildup to the point where the barrel life may be somewhat shortened. I usually bring a 6XC shooting a 115 gr. bullet, a 6.5×284 Norma shooting a 156 gr bullet, a Tubb ATR in 33XC shooting a 299 gr. bullet and a 408 CheyTac shooting a 419 gr. Bullet.
